#LoveTheatreDay is every day at The Broadway!

I have returned to the office after a week of annual leave ,and we are now in full swing for the winter season with panto plans a-go-go!

Our cast will be out and about in the city and surrounding areas meeting the public and spreading the magic. Today (4th),  look out for the cast at the Firework Fiesta. As well as mingling with the crowds, they will be on stage around 7.15pm. Our Princess will be singing, and there will be a chat with Widow Twanky and evil Abanazar (Boo!)

The cast will also be helping to bring in the festive season in Peterborough at the Christmas light switch-on on 18th November. Look out for them (behind you!)

That day, 18th November, will be a busy day here at the theatre. As well as the light switch-on, we have a function in our Broadway Suite, and in the main auditorium Sean Lock will be live on stage. We are down to the last 100 tickets for this event, so be quick if you want to secure your seat.

Some big shows have been added to the calendar for 2018. Jools Holland will be here in May with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra. Tickets went on sale at the start of this week and there has already been a strong uptake. It promises to be a great show, and there is a guest artist to be announced, so keep watching.

For families and kids Dinosaur World Live will be here in March prior to a run a London. Have a look at the event on our Facebook page and you will a see a video of the dinosaurs. They are phenomenal! After the show, there is a chance for a meet-and-greet – watch out for those sharp teeth!

Milkshake Live! and Peppa Pig are also now on sale. Fireman Sam will be in building with his friends from Milkshake! in May and Peppa Pig will be jumping in muddy puddles in September 2018.

For meetings this week, I had a lovely visit from Richard Lambert from Lambco Productions to discuss Skin Deep: The Musical which is on sale for one night only in May. Once the artwork is up, there will be bottoms all over the theatre.

Next week brings more chances to talk about theatre, with production meetings, marketing meetings and chatting about our plans at The Broadway. What better way to spend the days than talking about theatre! If that is something you enjoy doing, we are taking part in The Stage’s #LoveTheatreDay on 15th November. In the evening, from 7.30pm, we are welcoming some of Peterborough’s theatre companies to give a flavour of their work and to mix and mingle in the bar. Everyone is welcome and what is more, tickets are FREE!

Keep up to date with the new shows we are adding by following us on Facebook and Twitter, and checking this website.

Until next time…
