Prep for the panto and loads more besides!
Well, dear readers, I have just returned from a quick jaunt around the City Centre with the cast of our fabulous panto, Aladdin. We’ve been holiday shopping, sampling drinks and having hugs – a sample picture is below. If you want to find out more, have a look at our Facebook page or Twitter feed to see some more of the photos from this afternoon’s capers (in one of them, see if you can spot the name of the drinks Widow Twanky is holding).
While on the subject of panto, this week has been a delight to have the cast and creative team in the building rehearsing ahead of opening night on 14th December. There are sequins and glitter everywhere, but away from my desk it is a treat to see the wonderful company at work, creating a fun and fabulous production.
It’s not all panto here at The Broadway (oh yes it is!) – it really isn’t. Thursday we played hosts to BGL for their corporate training day. We were on hand to provide the precise configuration required for the room, refreshments, and lunch for 160 people while they undertook training sessions (there was a fabulous array of Christmas jumpers on show – Bravo).
Tuesday evening this week, I went along to the King’s Head Theatre in London to see a revue version of Skin Deep – the Musical that will be here at The Broadway in May. The show was funny and enjoyable with great musical numbers and thoughts about perception of ourselves and others.
Looking forward to next year, Sinatra, Sequins and Swing went on sale this week. With hit songs from Frank Sinatra and Marylyn Monroe, and a band led by the leader of Jools Holland and Ronnie Scott’s band, the show looks to be a classy evening of swing.
There are some more shows to go on sale very soon (six at the last count) so do make sure to check our social media pages as well as this website to be kept up to date. For now, I shall away. Next week is the get-in and tech for the panto, so it will be busy but exciting. See you aboard the magic carpet!
Until next time…
