Episode 14

Tell me it’s not true

But it is. It is true.  Blood Brothers is coming back to The Broadway. In April, Bill Kenwright will be presenting his sell out show at our venue with Lyn Paul starring as Mrs Johnstone.

The show is one of a number of musicals coming to us next year. This includes the previously announced Skin Deep in May, along with two film adaptations we are looking to get in later in 2018. How marvellous.

This week has also seen Trumpageddon go on sale. This show won awards at the Edinburgh Fringe and is embarking on a tour. This fun, witty satire of Trump (you’ve only got to see the poster to get the gist of the show) will be presented in The Broadway Suite.

Also announced this week are Abba Mania and a Country Night in Nashville. Both music events are on on sale with the first in March and the second in June. The company bringing in these shows also have three others in the pipeline, so more news will follow in due course.

This Sunday is New Year’s Eve and we will be hosting a Speakeasy with ‘funny money’ casino tables, live jazz band and lots more to boot. If you fancy dusting off your flapper and heading down to bring in 2018 in style, check this website for more details.

With a new year brings a time for reflection. I would like to devote some time to thank everyone who has made our Panto possible and brought everything together in a short space of time.

I am very excited that next year we will be presenting Cinderella but this is only possible due to the efforts of those this year. The cast and crew have worked tirelessly to deliver two weeks of brilliant shows. It has been a joy to share the theatre with them, to get to know them all and to see them bring life into the theatre.

And to all the volunteer ushers, selling merchandise, ice creams, taking tickets and more. I thank you all for your time this Christmas and for helping the shows to run smoothly.

I would also like to thank the team that made it all happen. Scott the director and associate producer, and Dan and Kat the producers. It has been wonderful to work with such passionate, dedicated people and I admire the work you have undertaken.

Here’s to 2018!

Until next time…
